Scott Krummenacher (He/Him) is a senior lecturer in environmental studies. His work explores the intersection of environmental policy, urban issues, and sustainability. Environmental equity is a central focus for Scott’s teaching and research. 

He teaches courses in environmental justice and environmental racism, while participating in the study of segregation and its impacts on environmental and public health outcomes through Washington University’s St. Louis Policy Initiative. Scott’s published research addresses issues in local governance, green space, and information communication technology.

Urban issues are also important to Scott’s teaching, research, and service. He teaches courses on the metropolitan environment and sustainable cities, while participating in community engaged teaching and research through the Sustainability Exchange. He is currently working with the Dutchtown South Community Corporation to understand municipal solid waste services across the City of St. Louis. Another current research project focuses on park quality across the City of St. Louis. Both projects are supported by undergraduate student research.
