Dan Butler studies American Politics. He focuses on questions related to representation and the behavior of elites and he primarily teaches courses in American politics.
Butler's research uses experiments to study issues of representation. This research has appeared in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, Political Analysis, the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and other journals. He is the author of the book Representing the Advantaged (Cambridge University Press).
