Sue teaches harp lessons for the department. 

Sue Taylor earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in harp with teachers who studied with Carlos Salzedo and Marcel Grandjany.

 

Sue is the harpist with the Saint Louis Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

Sue holds a Ph.D. in musicology from Washington University and has taught courses in University College and Summer School since 1989. Her areas of research include the music of Gustav Mahler and fin-de- siècle Viennese composers and the orchestral scoring for harp in 19th-century music forward.
