Professor Konig's interests concern the role of law in the shaping of the history of the American people. ​

Konig's teaching is guided by a desire to make the law come alive not only for undergraduates but for students preparing for a career in law. His scholarship has been cited in litigation before the Supreme Court of the United States and has served as expert testimony in public land use cases.
