​Professor Stoner’s research focuses on the clinical epidemiology of sexually transmitted diseases and sociocultural factors which influence infectious disease risk in human populations. He also serves as chief of STD Services for the St. Louis County Department of Health and is medical director of the St. Louis STD/HIV Prevention Training Center. He is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
