Andrea Murray is an environmental anthropologist whose research interests include tourism, sustainable development, political ecology, and island vulnerabilities.
Her fieldsites include the islands of Okinawa (Japan) and the Turks & Caicos Islands (Caribbean). She is committed to undergraduate education, and is currently developing new Global Health & Environment courses that will bring the political ecology of St. Louis to life for her students through an exploration of local place-making and community-building projects.
