Academic Advisor, College of Arts & Sciences
Amber Noland

As an Academic Advisor in the College Office of Arts & Sciences, Amber supports students in navigating the transformative experience that is an undergraduate, liberal arts education. This includes helping them explore their academic interests, pursue their long- and short-term goals, and connect to on-campus resources.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Amber graduated from Webster University with a B.A. in European Studies and then pursued her love of travel and other cultures by moving to South Korea to work for the South Korean Ministry of Education EPIK Program. After traveling around Asia (including a fortuitous trip to Gili Trawangan, Indonesia), she made a brief return to the Midwest before relocating to Stockholm, Sweden where she completed her master’s degree in International and Comparative Education at Stockholm University focusing on the effects of globalization on education systems and national curricula. Prior to coming to Washington University, Amber worked with first- and second-generation immigrant student populations in the Swedish public system.

One of the things Amber loves most about her role is the ability to work with diverse populations of students; she is passionate about integrating global experiences into higher education.

In her free time, Amber likes to spend time with her family, especially her husband, daughter. and their dog, Moose. She also likes to try new restaurants, travel to new-to-her places, and watch movies both old and new.
