Department of Music Lecture: Catherine Bradley

“Scattered Songs in Stockholm: New Fragments from A Medieval Motet Manuscript”

Catherine A. Bradley is Associate Professor at the University of Oslo, and she currently holds a Wigeland teaching and research fellowship at the University of Chicago.

Catherine received the inaugural Early Music Award of the American Musicological Society for her monograph, Polyphony in Medieval Paris: The Art of Composing with Plainchant (Cambridge University Press, 2018). She has recently been has awarded a European Research Council Consolidator Grant of 2 million Euros to fund the five-year research project BENEDICAMUS (Musical and Poetic Creativity for a Unique Moment in the Western Christian Liturgy c.1000-1500), to begin in September 2020.
