Cindy Lu participated in the May 1, 2021 masterclass with pianist Victor Rosenbaum of New England Conservatory of Music, Boston. Participants in the Virtual Masterclass, sponsored by the World Piano Teachers Association USA-Missouri, were selected by competitive video audition. Cindy recorded the prodigious Wanderer Fantasy in C Major, Op. 15 by Franz Schubert.
In an epic, nearly 4-hour Zoom masterclass the participants' audition videos were played in their entirety. Mr. Rosenbaum then worked with each student on expressive elements of their pieces, offering suggestions and illustrating deep musical connections within each work. He demonstrated from his studio in Boston and students were able to put suggestions into action from their own home/studio instruments. Cindy joined from the Recital Hall at the 560 Music Building.
Cindy Lu is a predoctoral fellow with the Olin Business School's Finance Department and is a piano student of Nina Ferrigno in the Department of Music at Washington University.
World Piano Teachers Association USA-Missouri was founded in 2020 as a part of the World Piano Teachers Association, a member of Alink-Argerich Foundation. WPTA USA-Missouri was founded to support young professionals, students, and piano communities.
