On the Subject of Warren

Greg Pennington writes:
"Those of us who knew him could add volumes more: shooting a crossbow at freshmen walking across the campus, using ropes to swing onto the wresting mat at Lehigh, and him climbing up to remove an organ pipe to blow like Gabriel's horn during what I considered to be a serious meeting of the Black Students for Pride and Unity."

Steve Davis recounted how he once locked his keys in his '66 Impala and approached Wildman for help:
"He told me to come with him. We went to his room and he got a regular table knife that he had stolen from the dining hall and a coat hanger. We went to my car, and he unlocked it in about 5 seconds, locked it again, unlocked it another way, locked it again, and so on until he'd shown me all the ways he could unlock it with the few tools we had. He didn't take the keys out, but locked the car again and said, 'Now you try it.' It was a great lesson to me, and I never forgot those great skills he taught me until the car companies made it impossible for anyone with advanced education to break into one."
