In Nov. 2001, Lynn Cheney and Joe Lieberman's group, The American Council of Trustees and Alumni, put out Defending Civilization: How Our Universities Are Failing America and What Can Be Done About It, a grotesque McCarthyite blacklist of "unpatriotic" opinions expressed by academics. Here's an article on it by an anthropologist. Here's the original report; then here's the revised version with the actual names de-emphasized and a disclaimer inserted about Lieberman. If you are a voter, you must read this report before even considering ever voting for this asshole.
