
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your
interest in Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. Psi Chi was founded
in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining
scholarship in, and advancing the science of, psychology. Membership is open to
undergraduates who are making the study of psychology one of their major
interests and who meet the minimum qualifications.
Requirements for membership
are:
1. Completion of
at least three semesters of full-time courses, not including the current
semester.
2. Completion of
at least nine units of psychology courses.
3. Declaration of
a major or minor in psychology.
4. Minimum overall
GPA of 3.00 or higher.
5. Minimum 3.30
GPA in psychology classes.
6. Ranking in the
top 35% of one’s undergraduate class in overall GPA.

Student Record Printout, available on your Webstac account (https://acadinfo.wustl.edu).
The deadline for submission is Monday, September 22. You will be
notified promptly if your admission has been approved.
The Psi Chi National
Membership fee is $35 and the chapter fee is $15 (total $50). This one-time fee includes a lifetime Psi Chi
membership and the Certificate of Membership.
Please submit a check for $50 (made out to Psi Chi) with your application. If
you are not accepted to Psi Chi, your check will be voided and returned to
you. In addition to completing the attached application, please also be
certain to fill out the Psi Chi registration card.

Chi’s mailbox located in the
The initiation ceremony to
welcome our new members will be held on October 20, in a location to be
announced. As you may know, our chapter
of Psi Chi sponsors several events for our undergraduates. This semester, we will be hosting an Applying to Graduate School forum, an
information session on PhD/PsyD/MSW/M.D in psychiatry, an opportunity to attend
a presentation by a mental health expert, and a service event.
Members who faithfully attend
Psi Chi events will be granted the opportunity to participate in a special
activity to be detailed at a later date.
