Study Abroad 101

This mandatory course will provide essential general and program-specific pre-departure information for students who have applied to study abroad through the College of Arts and Sciences. It must be taken in the semester immediately prior to study abroad. Students must register for both a section (01 or 02) and the discussion section (A, B, C, or D) that corresponds to the program to which they have applied. Students will attend a maximum of 8 classes throughout the semester, with dates specified on a syllabus to be distributed at the beginning of the course.

Registration for Study Abroad 101

If you have applied to study abroad during the school year (Fall, Spring, or Academic Year programs), you need to take the Study Abroad 101 course the semester prior to studying abroad. Please register for L99 101, Section 01 or 02 and also the corresponding Subsection for your program; A, B, C, or D (See Above).

For Fall and Academic Year programs, the course will not begin until mid to late February and we will notify you after the February 1st deadline of the dates. For Spring programs, we will notify you of the schedule at the beginning of the school year.

Schedule

Section 01: Mondays 4-5pm (4-5 sessions total)
Section 02: Tuesdays 9-10am (4-5 sessions total)
Subsections: Mondays and Fridays 4-5pm (1-3 sessions total)

Grading

Study Abroad 101 is not a credit-bearing course.
It must be taken pass/fail and the grade earned will appear on the WU transcript.
