The Overseas Programs staff welcomes you back from your time abroad. Come share stories of your adventure abroad with other enthusiastic returnees, departmental Study Abroad Advisors and staff. We look forward to hearing about your adventures and thoughts about your time abroad. A small resource fair will also be held during the reception to provide information on resources available to you on and off campus as you settle back in to campus and St. Louis.

Refreshments will be served.

Semi-Annual Study Abroad Photo Contest

Submissions due: 11:59pm on Fridya, August 29

In conjunction with the Returnee Reception, the photo contest gives you a chance to show off your photography skills and the amazing experiences you had!  Students, faculty and staff will vote at the reception and the winner of each category will receive a prize.  You may submit photos in every category but can only win in one category.  The categories are:
  • Landscape
  • Cityscape
  • Funny
  • People
  • Artistic
  • NEW! Wash U. Students in Context**
  • **Photos of you and/or other WU students at your host university, program location, integrating with your host culture, working on projects with other students, in a distinctive campus or program setting etc.
HOW TO SUBMIT ENTRIES
  • The deadline is 11:59pm on Friday, August 29.
  • Email your digital photo submissions as attachments to bcroyal@wustl.edu.
  • Photos should be at least 640x480 pixels.
  • Please title each photo as follows:  Last Name-Program-Title.jpg (or .gif)
  • In the email,  please list the following for each picture:  title, category, place and date

  • Note:  by submitting an entry to the contest, we will assume that you are giving us your permission to use your photo for our publications, website and other materials.

  • Optional: include a brief paragraph sharing a story about one of the photos OR something general about your study abroad experience (what you learned, what was most surprising, what was most useful, how you changed, what you appreciate about your host culture etc.) that we could feature in our publications, website and other materials.
