Liberty, Equality, and Justice: Philosophical Problems in Domestic and Global Contexts

National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar, 4-29 June 2012

A four-week National Endowment for the Humanities Seminar on political philosophy led by Andrew Altman and Christopher Heath Wellman,
June 4 to June 29, 2012.

Sixteen participants (fourteen faculty and two graduate students) will be chosen from among eligible applicants interested in liberty, equality, and justice. The seminar will feature appearances by Elizabeth Anderson (University of Michigan), Michael Blake (University of Washington), and Samuel Freeman (University of Pennsylvania) who will discuss their recently-published work and/or work-in-progress. Ample time will be allowed for participants to pursue individual projects on Seminar-related topics.

Summer Stipend: $3,300. Stipends are intended to help cover the cost of travel and living expenses during the course of the Seminar.
