In January of 2001, we conducted a national survey of American citizens designed to address some of our major questions in a preliminary manner.  As this survey also has a significant oversample of African Americans, we feel that the results of this survey will not only be helpful for our larger project, but will also stand on its own. For funding we thank Prof. Steve Smith and the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy. We also thank the Ford Foundation for giving us the ability to garner a black oversample as well. The documents below all require Adobe Acrobat.
