Gregory A. Caldeira |
(Ph.D., Princeton, 1978) is the Distinguished University Professor and University Chaired Professor of Political Science at the Ohio State University. He pursues research and teaching in the fields of judicial processes in the United States and Europe, organized interests, and American political institutions. He has been a member of the executive councils of the American Political Science Association and the Midwest Political Science Association; Vice President of the Midwest Political Science Association; and Chair of the APSA's Section on Law and Courts. He received Ohio State's Distinguished Scholar Award in 1994. Caldeira is the Editor of the American Journal of Political Science (1998-2001). |

James L. Gibson |
(Ph.D., Iowa, 1975) is the Sidney W. Souers Professor of Government at Washington University in St. Louis. He received his B.A. (with highest honors) from Emory University in 1972. He taught at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee from 1975 until 1983, when he joined the faculty at the University of Houston. In 1996, he was named Cullen Distinguished Professor. He joined the Political Science Department at Washington University in 1999. Gibson has research interests in most areas of political science, including comparative politics (especially processes of democratization), American politics (including political parties, public opinion, and especially courts and legal processes), and all areas of quantitative research methods (especially survey research). Gibson is immediate past president of the Midwest Political Science Association. |

Lester Spence |
(Ph.D., Michigan, 2001) is an Assistant Professor of political science at John Hopkins University and a Kellogg Schollar of Health Disparities at Morgan State University. He is a former member of the Political Science Department at Washington University, and received his Ph.D. and undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan. Spence has research interests in American Politics, including African American Politics, Race and Politics, Political Behavior, Public Opinion, Urban Politics, and American Political Thought. |
