Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies The JINES office will be closed in June and July. We will be checking our e-mail occasionally. In the fall our offices will move to 300 Eliot Hall. The faculty will have new office addresses, but their phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same. Stay tuned for updates. Thanks for your patience. Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies is an interdisciplinary program of the School of Arts and Sciences whose purpose is to explore the historical experience; literary, religious, and cultural expression; and political and material life of the Jewish, Islamic, and Near Eastern civilizations. The program incorporates diverse disciplinary perspectives, including history, religious studies, literary criticism, language, anthropology, archaelogy, political science, and film studies. The Program in Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies is located in Busch Hall, Room 15, on the Danforth Campus at Washington University. Please contact our acting director, Prof. Martin Jacobs (mjacobs@wustl.edu), or our administrative assistant, Debra M. Schwartz (jines@wustl.edu; (314) 935-8567) for more information. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Our director, Prof. Pamela Barmash, is on research leave during the 2008-09 academic year. |
