Using Technology to Support Your Research

 

This new 3-hour workshop focuses on how technological tools can help you achieve your research goals more quickly and effectively. This workshop is open to graduate students at all stages of their academic career, whether just beginning graduate school or finishing up your dissertation In special sessions for Humanities/Social Science students and Science students, we will explore:

 

How technology tools can help you maximize your research time.

Strategies for getting the most out of your research materials.

Specific tools and resources, such as:

 

Zotero - GIS - LaTeX - Mind Mapping Software - Citation Management - and more!

There is no cost to departments or graduate students, but enrollment is limited.
Workshops will be held in the Arc Technology Center, Olin Library Level A

The Graduate School of Arts & Sciences offers peer-led technology workshops to A&S graduate students each year. In this workshop, we will focus on how tools such as the ones mentioned above can support your research goals, whatever they may be. This workshop is open to graduate students in all stages of their academic career. Additional information will be available soon.

This workshop is offered as part of the graduate student development and technology series, brought to you by the organizers of the annual workshop on Using Technology to Enhance Your Teaching.

The workshop is offered in a choice of sessions based on your subject area. Please choose one:

 

Humanities/Social Sciences Session I: May 18, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sciences Session I: May 19, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Humanities/Social Sciences Session II: May 20, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Sciences Session II: May 21, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Optional technical support Sandbox sessions will be held

This series of workshops has been developed by the Washington University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, in cooperation with the Teaching Center, and the Arts & Sciences Computing Center.
