I'm a philosopher at Washington University in St Louis. I mainly work on the philosophy of language and logic, and epistemology. I wrote this book on the analytic/synthetic distinction, and edited this one with Delia Graff Fara. This one, which was edited with Greg Restall, should also be out soon.
I've published papers on topics like barriers to implication and logical pluralism. And I do a lot of martial arts, including teaching a club at Wash U.
I'm originally from the UK and was an undergraduate at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I did my Ph.D. at Princeton (2004). I have spent many fine (northern) summers as a visiting scholar at Melbourne University. I was Killam Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta in 2005, a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley in the spring of 09, and a visiting fellow at Tilburg Center For Logic and Philosophy of Science (TiLPS) in the Netherlands in the fall of 2009.
