Both cities were home to contemporary music geniuses. Legendary jazz-trumpetist Miles Davis grew up in East St. Louis. Astor Piazzolla conceived his revolutionary "new Tango" in Buenos Aires city. Although they were about to record together (Piazzolla had already recorded albums with two jazz stars of that time: Gerry Mulligan and Gary Burton), first authorship concerns prevented them from doing so.
