Applicants must apply by January 2. Applicants must follow standard Graduate School procedures and either apply online (strongly recommended) or submit the following material:

- Applicant Information Form
- GRE Scores (only the General Test is required)
- Please use the following GRE codes: WU = 6929; Writing = 2503
- Transcripts of Previous Work
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- Writing Sample and Cover Sheet (downloadable PDF)

Typed manuscripts should consist of 6 to 12 poems, 2 or 3 short stories, or part of a novel (please keep prose manuscripts to 35 pages or fewer), and should be accompanied by the cover sheet (download PDF). Please note the decision-making committees admit students and decide on financial aid without regard to gender, sexual orientation, age, race, color, creed, national origin, or disability.
