Admissions
All applicants enter the program as PhD students. We do not award a terminal M.A. All incoming graduate students are fully funded through a tuition waiver and a fellowship. There is no specific grade point or GRE score required for admission to the PhD program, but we look for high achievement in a range of undergraduate English courses and in at least one paper submitted to us as a writing sample.
The department’s internal deadline for admission is January 8, 2010. It is preferred that you apply to the PhD program online at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences homepage (http://artsci.wustl.edu/GSAS/) and follow specific instructions.
