Jill McNew’s research will combine her interests in equity and social justice in science education. Currently she is exploring the problem of teacher attrition through interviews with teachers about their approaches to their own careers. She is also working with the learning progression synthesis group in CISTL on developing a learning progression toward mastery of the concept of protein expression, and exploring the negotiations inherent in this process.

Gail Wolfe’s coursework is focused in the areas of educational history, urban education, and women and gender studies. Her research interests lie primarily in examining issues of race and gender in education through the analytic lenses of intellectual history and the history of the body.

Lisa-Anne D. Kelly’s primary research interest is science education in non-school settings such as zoos and museums. She is currently involved in a Center for Inquiry in Science Teaching and Learning (CISTL) research project regarding professional development for science educators in informal science institutions.
