 The John and Penelope Biggs Residency in the Classics

Each spring, students and faculty members have the opportunity to interact with a noted visiting scholar in the Department of Classics. They meet during office hours, lectures and social events, where students especially are able to learn more about the visiting scholar’s research and area of specialization within the study of Greece and Rome. This personal contact has proven to be a valuable resource for students of Classics, both graduate and undergraduate. The Biggs Residency in the Classics is the gift of John and Penelope Biggs, alumni of Washington University. The following scholars have been Biggs Residents:
