The Chinese Language Program, a section of the Department of Asian & Near Eastern
           Languages and Literatures (ANELL) at Washington University, offers the BA and MA
           degrees in Chinese language and literature and Ph.D in Chinese and Comparative Literature.
           The faculty in our Chinese Section includes four in the professorial ranks and seven full-time
           lecturers. We offer five years of modern and a year of classical Chinese. Besides, students
           are encouraged to participate in study abroad program either in Mainland China or in Taiwan.
