The Center for Contemporary Arts (COCA), a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1986, strives to introduce a general audience to a range of contemporary art.
COCA serves around 100,000 people annually, with ongoing exhibitions and exhibit-related programming such as gallery talks, hands-on workshops and classes, lectures and demonstrations, and much more.
Located on Trinity Avenue, just off of Delmar Blvd., the COCA is only about a mile away from Washington University campus.

The new building for the Pulitzer Foundation of the Arts opened in October 2001 and features the work of Richard Serra, Ellsworth Kelly, and architect Tadao Ando. Admission is free and docent-led visits are available at 2pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The PFA building is Ando's first public structure in the United States.

The Saint Louis Artists' Guild is a non-profit visual arts center recognized for exhibitions and programs, and offers a variety of programs including classes, workshops, gallery talks, demonstrations, and art tours.
Located at Big Bend Boulevard and Clayton Road in Oak Knoll Park.
Gallery admission is free.

The St. Louis Art Museum is one of the leading museums in the country, and is free to the public. It is located in Forest Park, just west of Downtown St. Louis, and within walking distance from Washington University campus.
Permanent collections range from ancient to contemporary and include masterpieces of Asian art, Renaissance art, American art and Impressionism. The museum houses collections which are among the world's best, including German Expressionist and Pre-Columbian.

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, is situated in the same building as the Department of Art History and Archaeology, part of the new Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. Admission is free to the public
