Bradley Stoner has conducted ethnographic studies of syphilis from patient and provider perspectives.  He is currently engaged in a longitudinal study of the psychosocial impact of chlamydia on women seeking family planning services in St. Louis. Peter Benson studies political, economic, and cultural aspects of public health issues related to food systems and industrial agriculture, focused mainly on the tobacco industry. He is also interested in cultural issues in public health research and practice (see recent articles in PLoS Medicine and Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine).
