Note on the Martineau reading

This is a very good account of what happened on the front lines of the first GM food to be regulated in the US; she does a particularly good job of showing the interactions between science, business, government, and personalities. Some "guide" questions will appear here in the future.

Note on the assignment: for those not reading this as the optional book, the page assignment (pp. 60-109) requires an explanation. You are basically supposed to read Chapter 3, but the assignment includes the last page of the preceding chapter and the first page of the following chapter just so you can get an idea of how this chapter fits into the overall narrative.

The copyright charge is only for students reading this as their optional book.
