Former First Lady Presents Caregiving Award to Linda Nichols

Rosalynn Carter (center) presented the 2008 Rosalynn Carter Leadership in Caregiving Award to Linda Nichols (right), PhD 1982, and Jennifer Martindale-Adams. This award, the highest given in the caregiving field, recognizes innovative partnerships between community agencies and caregiving researchers who bridge the gap between science and practice. The two recipients head the REACH VA Project, a partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Memphis VA Medical Center to raise the standard of care provided to dementia caregivers and patients using evidence-based interventions.
