The Department has just received funding from the Dean's office to embark on a new Campus wide Speaker Series under the rubric of ANELL Literature Series.

The general objective of the series is to highlight the interdisciplinary significance of literature. The speakers, who will come from a diverse literature/culture background, will address the role that literature will play in undergraduate and graduate education in an increasingly global world. In Fall 2005, a departmental committee will form to plan the details including the involvement of other departments, possible thematic focus, the duration of the speakers stay, and the kinds of classroom and/or presentations s/he will make.
