The popular Jazz at Holmes series of weekly evening concerts has a rich 12-year history at Washington University. This video presentation takes us back to its beginning in Arts & Sciences as a summer program and provides insight into this collaborative campus project that involves great musical performances, enthusiastic faculty, dedicated administrators and--most importantly--energetic students.
Consisting of interviews with those who first made Jazz at Holmes possible, plus a taste of the sites and sounds from a jazz performance in the series, this 6-minute video gives a behind-the-scenes look at this well-loved program. We hope it will also serve as an invitation to drop by on Thursday evening and experience Jazz at Holmes in person.
Jazz at Holmes is sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences, Student Union, Congress of the South 40, the Department of Music, University College and Summer School, Campus Life, Danforth University Center & Event Management, Community Service Office, Office of Student Involvement & Leadership, Greek Life Office, and the Office of Residential Life.
