Lost Password

Here are some tips that may help you to remember your password:

  • The login and password are case sensitive, so be sure to use upper and lowercase letters where appropriate.
  • Some characters such as lowercase letter L and number1 (one), Capital letter O and number 0 (zero), and lowercase letter Q and lowercase letter A look very similar. If you have any of these characters in your password, try typing it with its look-alike instead.
  • Passwords have between 6 and 8 characters. At least one upper-case character, and one lower-case character. At least one non-alpha character, such as a number and/or character such as: !,@,#,$,%,^,&,*,(,)
  • You may not use the following characters: " , ' , ` , ~ , | , \ , / , < , >
  • The password will work over the campus network right away but modem passwords will not change until the next day, so if you get your internet access by dialing into the artsci modems, the password will not update for our modems until the following morning.

ArtSci Tech Support can re-set passwords for faculty, staff and students.  Stop by the ArtSci lab on the lower level of Eads or call 935-8077, Monday-Friday 10am-5pm.  If you call, please be prepared to give us some personal information to verify who you are. If you drop by, you will need to have your current Washington University ID or driver's license with you.

We will not send passwords through email for security reasons
