Rockefeller Brothers Fund
The Rockefeller Brothers Fund seeks to reduce the divisive and destabilizing tensions that exist between much of the Islamic world and the West, particularly the United States, and to increase the potential for collaboration among Muslim and Western societies on behalf of a better, safer world through the following strategies: 1) Supporting efforts to ensure that U.S. policies and behaviors reflect an understanding of the complexity and diversity of Muslim societies and contribute to mutually respectful, productive relations with those societies; 2) Supporting initiatives that contribute to deeper U.S. public understanding of Islam and Muslim societies; 3) Supporting joint Muslim-Western efforts to address issues and problems that are of shared concern and that have a significant bearing on the relationship between the U.S. and Muslim-majority countries; 4) Supporting the efforts of Muslim organizations and scholars to contribute to dynamic debate within Muslim societies about the role and future of Islam and of Islamic peoples in a rapidly changing, increasingly interconnected world.
