Research Interests
Professor Carlin has appeared as soloist under the direction of Roger Norrington and Leonard Slatkin and with performers Pinchas Zukerman, James Buswell, Anner Bylsma and Malcolm Bilson. In the last two years he performed as soloist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven’s “Triple” Concerto and appeared as soloist with Philharmonia Baroque in concerts in California. ProfessorCarlin has also played with such diverse groups as the Boston Pops, Cambridge Society for Early Music, in New York’s prestigious “On Original Instruments” Series at Merkin Hall and with Toronto’s Tafelmusik.

In recent years he has given concerts in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and during 1992-1993, he performed the complete cycle of keyboard sonatas by Franz Schubert on fortepiano in both St. Louis and New York. Prof. Carlin was a prizewinner in the International Busoni Competition.
