​Melanie Micir's current work focuses on queer feminist lives at midcentury.

In 2015, Micir was awarded a Harry Ransom Center Research Fellowship in the Humanities, a Summer Faculty Research Grant from the Center for the Humanities, and an Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award from the Graduate Student Senate.
