David Archer, Department of Psychology
David has been the Computing Support Manager in the Psychology Department for a decade, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware and software, developing and maintaining the Department website and advising and training faculty and staff as needed on hardware and software applications. The Psychology Department has been consistently impressed with his knowledge and skill, his ability to solve problems creatively, his willingness to go the extra mile, his good-natured enthusiasm, and the pride he takes in his work. David was instrumental in setting up a web-based graduate admissions and review system, extremely useful to the faculty. He reinforces the positive reputation of the Psychology Department in the eyes of students, scholars, scientists, administrators and visitors who pass through the department.

Lisa Klein, Earth & Planetary Sciences
As the Departmental Accountant for Earth & Planetary Sciences, Lisa provides a significant amount of the financial administrative effort necessary to support the teaching, learning, and research activity of faculty, staff and students. She handles the non-compensation transactions generated annually by seventy sponsored research awards and almost seventy unrestricted and endowment accounts. She has mastered intricate University policies and federal regulations including all things foreign: international travel, wire transfers, foreign vendor purchases, and even deciphering receipts in foreign languages. For an extended period this year, she covered the job duties for another position, in addition to her own. Under all circumstances, she displays a positive, helpful attitude when assisting faculty, students and staff. We appreciate her experience, expertise and good humor.

Judy Musick, Department of Biology
With a smile and constant can-do attitude, Judy has contributed significantly to the Department of Biology. As Administrative Manager since 2003, Judy manages the work of a number of support staff in the Department. She also manages and oversees grants, and coordinates all aspects of faculty searches and candidate visits. She interacts with people throughout the university to help the Department personnel be as productive as possible and to help students to be as successful as possible. Judy consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that the missions of advising, teaching and research are accomplished. Her constant attention to the faculty and students is essential for the smooth running of the department and makes the Biology Department’s work environment exceptional.

Greg Noelken, Department of Chemistry
Greg has been a computer specialist in Chemistry since 2000, and has expanded his activities to positively impact our research and teaching objectives. Greg installed and configured software systems to distribute course materials, grade information, and to handle enrollment procedures in the popular Peer-Led Team Learning sections, a specialized learning opportunity. He has enhanced the research capabilities of many groups by assisting with regular maintenance of our Computational Chemistry Facility, a sixteen-node server cluster and several desktop workstations. Greg helped design and improve classroom facilities with LCD projectors, laptops, and other presentation equipment. He helps faculty set up web-pages and group research sites, maintains the hardware and software for the department website, and is working with A&S to move the site to a central server. Greg is a personable and engaged co-worker, always interested in finding ways to help our teaching and research missions.

Heather Sloan-Randick, Department of Political Science
As Office Manager, Heather not only managed the Political Science Department’s transition into Seigle Hall, she did it while remarkably carrying the load of three office staff positions alone. All the while she kept her good sense of humor and worked very well with Department and College administration. Heather is always extremely helpful, resourceful and maintains a great attitude. She also exhibits great patience, is trustworthy, timely, and has very quickly mastered some complicated systems. After being trained on the human resources and financial systems, she brought all of the financial operations and records of the department up to date in a short amount of time. Heather has been in Arts & Sciences for many years, and has worked hard to create a collegial and supportive work environment in the Political Science department.

Angela Taylor, College of Arts & Sciences
Since 2001, Angela has been serving the students, the College, and the University. As Coordinator of Student Records, Angela oversees the educational records of thousands of students in the College of Arts & Sciences, ensuring an accurate representation of academic work completed. She consistently displays a positive attitude and takes great pride in getting things right and true; without her commitment to maintaining accuracy, our students’ transcripts could not be trusted. She assists the Academic Integrity Officer in maintaining permanent case files and plays an important role in the degree certification process. She is tenacious in meeting important Office of Student Record policies and deadlines, is meticulous in her communications with students and departments regarding student academic record entries, and is the source of strength and calmness during the frenetic activities of graduation certification.
