Arts & Sciences consists of three academic units: The College, The Graduate School, and University College. These units are served and governed by an administrative office called "The Faculty of Arts & Sciences." Altogether Arts & Sciences claims more than 45 departments, programs, and centers; 41 buildings; approximately 600 faculty; and more than 5,000 students, making it an intellectual hub of teaching and learning at Washington University in St. Louis. The Graduate School
The Graduate School oversees all aspects of PhD and MA degree programs, including the admissions process and progress of continuing students to degree completion. It is the advisory home to graduate Arts & Sciences and University-wide graduate student groups. The Graduate School also supervises many University-wide programs for the promotion of diversity, external funding, and interdisciplinary opportunities for graduate students.

University College
University College is the evening, summer, and special-programs division of Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. Part-time and adult students can earn associate's, bachelor’s or master’s degrees, or certificates; or take a wide variety of credit or non-credit courses for personal enrichment. University College also includes the Lifelong Learning Institute, a peer-learning program for adults age 55 and older.
