Sue Taylor holds a Ph.D. in musicology from Washington University and teaches courses in University College. Her areas of research include the music of Gustav Mahler and fin de siècle Viennese composers and the orchestral scoring for harp in the 19th-century music forward. She earneed a master's degree in harp and teaches harp in the Department of Music.

She performs with the Saint Louis Philharmonic and Union Avenue Opera Theatre and is a substitute harpist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.
