welcome

The Disability Studies Faculty Group (DSFG) is a group of students and faculty who are interested in a broad understanding of disability. DSFG is fundamentally both interdisciplinary and inter-institutional. Members bring economic, educational, historical, literary, philosophical, psychological, rehabilitative, and sociological analytic tools to bear on a wide variety of topics. Along with a core group from Washington University (including members from Arts & Sciences, Business, Law, Medicine and Social Work), we hail from Fontbonne, St. Louis University, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and University of Missouri-St. Louis. Members have extensive background in public and private non-profit organizations as well as prominent areas of research and leadership in the field of disability studies.

DSFG sponsors lectures, courses, symposia, and reading groups that involve students, faculty, and members of the community. We receive generous sponsorship from the Center for the Study of Human Values and from the College of Arts and Sciences.
