This image was taken by Prof. Michael Frachetti in the Koksu Valley of Kazakhstan.  It is an upward view through the top vent of a Kazakh nomadic home (yurt).  It shows a traditional pattern of wooden supports, which has been tied to domestic construction traditions over 2000 years old.
